Week One

So I have had the instructions for the level 1 Master Knitter class now for a week.  I have read the instructions about 50 times.  I actually started to knit swatch one last night but after a few rows knew it was going to get scrapped.  The tension was uneven.  This is not even something I normally pay attention to!  But there it was staring back at me.

Lesson #2 for me (Long Tail Cast On being #1) is how to keep even tension throughout the project.  I watched a video in which a woman wrapped the yarn around her fingers this way and that – and that is supposed to keep even tension.  I don’t even hold the working yarn now – just kind of let it hang there.  Tonight I’ll try this trick and see if it helps.

This is going to be good for me.  It’s going to be good for me.  Just keep telling myself that!!
