I was just reading the Yarn Harlot’s post from yesterday . . . about casting on a bunch of new projects. It’s just that time of year!! I have cast on two new projects: the Effortless Cardigan by Hannah Fetig (knitbot). I haven’t gotten very far with it yet, but the yarn (Madelinetosh DK in Ms. Taylor) is so beautiful to look at and touch. I hope to have something wonderful to wrap myself in soon.
I also cast on a ski hat for my husband. His annual “guys ski trip” is in a few weeks. Not sure if they will have snow, but he’ll have a nice warm hat. I went into the stash and found brown cascade soft spun. It is so soft!!! He found a pattern he wants me to make. It’s from the Sweater Babe site and is very cool:
The pattern cost $4 but I could download it – that is just the best! The cables are a bit tricky. I was watching youtube videos in bed last night – there is a bit of a twist involved. I think I’ve figured it out. Time will tell I guess. He’s pretty psyched. People are going to want to know where he got this cool hat. Planning to work on it tonight and will post pics tomorrow.
Tomorrow I have a “Magic Loop” toe-up sock class at the Hillsborough Yarn Shop. Really looking forward to this. I have some sock yarn, but am not sure if I have a long enough circular needle. Oh well, may need to do some shopping before class!
