I’ve had a plan to make my daughter a beautiful blanket to take to college with her. She’s always cold, and this would be something she could wrap around herself — like a hug from me. Her high school graduation is in 4 days. I can feel the waterworks coming. She’s still my little Anna Burrito – what we called her when we wrapped her up in a blanket to help her get to sleep as a newborn.
So I found the pattern – it’s a total of 30 blocks. Doesn’t sound too bad, does it? I’ve finished 3 and 1/4. I have just over two months to finish them all, sew in all the ends, sew up the blanket and wash it. I really think I better get moving on this and to heck with all the other WIPs I have started (and one I want to start!!). I think I’ll have to start knitting during lunch at work.
Here’s a photo of Scotch testing out two of the blocks. He looks pretty cozy, so I think they’re keepers.
The colors will be greens and blues. I think she has relented on this. I just don’t have the time to keep changing up the colors!! Will post more pictures as soon as I have some!
My two sisters and I are doing a book club this summer. Hopefully we’ll read three books and then Skype about them. I got to make the first selection. I chose “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck. Looking forward to it — have wanted to read it for awhile. One of my sisters lives right nearby and one lives in OH. So when my OH sister comes to town, we are going to rent the movie. I told them I was going old school on my pick – and they both seemed happy with it, and neither has read it yet!!
