Baby Sweater

I may have mentioned in an earlier post that my step-sister is expecting a baby in April.  We are all so excited!!  I wanted to start knitting something for her right away, but started feeling a bit superstitious and decided to wait a few more weeks.

Then the dilemma  – what to knit.  Or, what to knit first!  I decided to go with one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) baby sweater pattern on Ravelry – the Puerperium.   I wish I knew how to pronouce it!  I’m using Fibre Company Canopy yarn in the Kingfisher colorway.  The only thing I don’t  love about this yarn is that my fingers turn blue as I knit!!  The dye is rubbing off on my hands.  It washes off easily enough – but this sweater will need an extra good soak or two before sending off to its new owner.

I really can’t wait to put this in the mail!

In other knitting, I made a hat for my son:

One half of a pair of fingerless mitts:

And am working on a pair of socks for me:

So although I haven’t been blogging much . . . I have been knitting!
